Project Summary

The Scioto Mile is Columbus’ premier downtown destination for visitors of all ages. The site is comprised of over 145 acres of lush parkland, fountains and scenic overlooks stretching from Bicentennial Park on the South, to North Bank Park on the edge of the city’s Arena District.

The Scioto Mile plays catalyst for the revitalization of Downtown Columbus by offering cultural centers, trails, and event space for people to gather in the heart of the city. The centerpiece of the project is the fountain in Bicentennial Park that serves as a place for kids of all ages to cool off and acts as venue for an unforgettable nighttime viewing experience featuring water jets, lighting, and fog effects set to a soundtrack.

ASL Stone was presented with the unique vision of MKSK to source and supply the project’s granite for treads, bollards, pavers, planter curb, and the iconic 15,000 square foot fountain. One fountain was one-of-a-kind, and required nearly 2,000 precisely placed holes for row after row of water jet nozzles.  Our experience and expertise allowed us to facilitate innovative solutions for the precision paver work needed for this one-of-a-kind fountain, and the refabricating of holes that was essential for integration with below grade plumbing.
